Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week minimum. Flexibility to work additional hours is required, including evenings and weekends

Job Description: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

​

• Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair:

  • Inspect vehicles and diagnose any required work.

  • Perform repairs and replace defective parts as necessary.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of vehicles.

• Recovery Truck Operations:

  • Operate recovery trucks to transport vehicles to and from specified locations, including testing centres, repair facilities, and client sites.

  • Ensure vehicles are securely loaded and transported in compliance with safety and legal requirements.

  • Maintain the recovery truck in excellent operational condition, performing routine inspections and minor maintenance as needed.

  • Respond promptly to vehicle recovery requests and ensure timely delivery of vehicles to designated locations.

• Vehicle Electrical Systems:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems on vehicles, including wiring, sensors, control modules, and other components.

  • Install and integrate electrical systems in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure vehicles meet operational and safety requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including diagnostic reports and repair details.

• VOSA Type Approval:

  • Prepare vehicles for VOSA type approval testing, ensuring all systems and components meet regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with testing facilities to schedule and facilitate type approval inspections.

  • Address any issues identified during testing to ensure successful certification.

  • Stay up to date with VOSA regulations and ensure all vehicle modifications comply with current standards.

• Customer Service:

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair timelines.

  • Provide professional advice on vehicle maintenance and preventative measures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.

  • Valid UK driving licence.

• Desirable:

  • Experience in operating recovery trucks.

  • Knowledge of VOSA type approval processes.

  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
